Walters makes recycling easy with Single Sort,
which is currently available in Coon Rapids, Andover, St. Anthony, Lino Lakes, Mounds View
and some commercial sites. You simply place all your
recyclable items loosely together (please
do not bag these items) in your designated recycling cart.
Service is provided every other week on your scheduled service
day.

Place all items together in your Single Sort
recycling cart:
- Metal cans
- Clean glass bottles and jars (no ceramics,
window or mirror glass)
- Plastic bottles with a neck
- Paper - news, office, junk mail, magazines
- Cereal boxes
- Pop cases
- Cardboard - please flatten, bundle and tie
together
- Shredded paper
** Sorry we can not accept pizza boxes or beverage
cartons. **
Single Sort recycling is unlimited. Carts are
available in our 90 gallon sizes. If you have excess recycling
items that don’t fit into your recycling cart, you may place
additional recycling items in paper bags or boxes. Place extra
recycling at least three feet to the side of your recycling cart
by 6:30 a.m. on your collection day.
Q: I frequently have extra recycling. Can
I get a larger cart?
A: Walters recycling service is unlimited and
will always pick-up any recycling you have out. To make it easier,
Walters offers two sizes of carts for recycling. Call our Customer
Service Center at 763-780-8464 to schedule delivery of additional
carts or to change your cart size.
Q: I want to recycle cardboard boxes, but
can’t fit them all in my Single Sort cart. What can I do
with them?
A: Cardboard boxes can be flattened and tied
into bundles no more than three feet by three feet by one foot
tall and placed next to your Single Sort cart for recycling. There
is no charge for additional recycling.
The recycling of stoves, refrigerators, water
heaters, appliances, and some electronics is not included in your
regular service program. To schedule a pick-up of these items,
contact Walters in advance at 763-780-8464. Payment
arrangements are to be made at the time you schedule your service.
For your convenience, Walters accepts Visa and MasterCard.
Appliances that Walters will pick-up include;
microwave ovens, washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, freezers,
water heaters, furnaces, dehumidifiers, trash compactors, some
electronics, swimming pool heaters and air conditioners.
The recycling fee is additional per item, please call for pricing.
If an appliance isn’t listed above, call
Walters at 763-780-8464 to verify the pick-up and charge.
State law requires that all video display devices containing CRT (cathode ray tubes) be recycled and cannot be thrown into your regular trash. This includes televisions, computer monitors and mercury containing devices like most LCD flat panel televisions and monitors. Other items that need to be recycles include florescent tubes/bulbs, batteries, appliances and tires
